Coffee and cycling, they go together rather well don't they! So it makes sense that there's a coffee just for the upcoming Staffordshire Cycling Festival : )
We were approached by the festival organiser to create a custom blend to celebrate the event and of course we jumped at the chance! Recently we were visited by Liam Holohan ([@liam_holohan](https://twitter.com/liam_holohan "@liam_holohan")) and Andy Tennant ([@tennanto](https://twitter.com/tennanto "@tennanto")) who spent some time at the roastery tasting different coffees and coming up with a delicious blend.
The 2015 Staffordshire Cycling Festival takes place on the 3rd and 4th July and starts with Strider balance bike racing, a family Free-Ride and its traditional Friday night criterium races in Stafford town centre, before moving to the beautiful grounds of Shugborough Estate for Saturday’s activities, incorporating two sportives, Strider balance bike activities, a mountain bike race, Women’s criterium and a Men’s kermesse.
The sportive routes get a refresh this year, the brand new Free-Ride Friday has been added to the programme, and there are also a number of changes to the professional kermesse course. The festival caters for all levels of cycling skill and is a fun event for spectators and all the family.
Here's a great video about when Andy and Liam visited the roastery, make sure to have a look...
This blend consists of...
- 50% Costa Rica Don Joel San Luis Finca La Cumbre Yellow Honey Caturra (Raised Beds)
- 30% Colombia Finca Buena Vista Caturra Washed
- 20% Nicaragua Finca Limoncillo Natural 'Funky' Red Pacamara
In the cup there's a whole load of dark cherry, think of the cherry goo you get in a fruit corner yoghurt, thick and dark and sweet and syrupy. Then add to that a strong elbow of Eton mess followed by a brilliantly tasty candy floss sweetness, there's also a soft edge of funk confidently wafting its way around.
